Between 9th to 17th April live the passion of Easter in Alicante

A full week of parades awaits you. There is a Mediterranean colour to the tunics and Christian withdrawal in those parading. There are over fifty “pasos” or processions carryng floats or effigies. A heritage matching and other you’ll find in Spain. Over all there is a feeling that we carry something wich is ours. from the palms of “Palm Sunday” to the encounter of Our Lady “de la Alegría” with Resuscitated Christ In between, be present at the ascent of the Morenet ( The “Dark One”), the majestic descent from Santa Cruz and the magnificient “paso” of the “Last Supper”. There are more “brotherhoods” summing up twenty-seven and thousands of people on procession throghout the official itinerary. All the parishes from Alicante attend.

whitst the city, once again, receives thousands of visitors who integrate in our city as if they were our lifelong neighbours and they always decide to come back…over and over again.

The Holy Week Easter celebrations start on Palm Sunday, giving way to a week of processions by around 30 guilds and brotherhoods. One of the most popular and emotive is the procession through the narrow, steep streets of the Santa Cruz neighbourhood on the Wednesdey before Easter Sunday.
